Linked to the Ubisoft game The Division, the book answers a number of questions and provides background info to a number of elements within the single player game. It's quite satisfying to find a scene in the game where you know how the characters got there, and what they're motivation was, and this adds depth to the game. The book is well presented, has a number of 'artifacts' within it such as a map, a postcard, tube ticket, etc. to bring life to the story, but aside from a few a-ha moments, there's not enough puzzles in it for my liking and the ones that are in there are fairly tame. Also, unless I missed something, there isn't a major reveal at the end. Other than that, if you own The Division game you have to get this, and I guess it would work as a stand alone book as well.

This is an excellent book which complements the computer game "The Division". In the computer game you are a special agent in a unit called "The Divison" who are airlifted in to assist the remaining civil and military authorities on Manhatten Island in New York City when a major "world wide"? epidemic breaks out. This book is at one level a "survival preppers" manual which gives you hints on how to survive a catastrophic natural or man-made disaster. However its the notes written in the margins that bring the book alive. Without spoiling the story they are written by a woman who was given the book by her husband (why?) and has survived (so far) the outbreak of the "Dollar bug" disease. It relates her experiences in moving around the city - annotating the survival manual with notes on what has happened. Also in the book are clues / coded messages about who could have been involved in the disease outbreak? This ties in with her personal story. There are encounters with the Division agents, cults such as the "Cleaners" etc. who you interact with during the computer game.
The extras in between the pages of the book are a great touch. They include a map of Manhatten Island (suitably blood stained and grubby with use) which show buildings which might be accessible in the game? - is the Armoury of the 69th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment / National Guard unit accessible - if so it might have military grade weapons and ammunition?; a used ticket for the subway system; a CERA Notice of Vaccination.

I'm heading back to Amazon now to buy my "Bear Grylls" survival knife, Go Bag, strong bin liners and several rolls of Duct Tape ;)

Not finished reading this yet, bought along with the Sleeper Agent Edition and Art Book, there was actually a problem with delivery of this item even though I pre-ordered it way in advance, couldn't really understand the lady with the thick West Indies accent but it eventually arrived.
Anyway this is really an excellent, near perfect example of computer game merchandise, I love the fact that on it's own it is a very well written Survival Guide, like the one in the Far Cry 3 Insane Edition, but this is of a different standard in comparison.
The extra dimension to this product is that it feels lived in, the blood droplets and singed edges of pages, detailed hand written notes of actual events depicted in the game scribbled in the margins of practically every page, I forget what there called but in one of the April Kellerer memory sequences in the game it refers to an actual paragraph written on a specific page of the guide, the developers and author obviously worked closely in tandem to achieve such a high standard for this product, the relics included are also a very nice touch which just make the item feel that much more authentic, a map of Manhattan and used bus ticket are just a couple of relics included which are also produced to a high standard, can't recommend enough, easily worth double the original price obviously only if your a big fan of the game.

This book took me a long time to get a hold off but glad I persisted a great read and an unusual one at that, with not just the printed text making the story but more all the hand written notes plasters all around.
Let's you get more into the game with a back story of what it would be like in a hypothetical situation.
The book feels great in your hand and all the added little extras stuck in between the pages are a really nice touch.

It's interesting book for The Division fans (but not a must have). It's also a useful book with non-fictional informations/tips for surviving a real catastrophe.

The book includes notes from a fictional person living in the "The Division" universe that complement the in-game history. The person also appears in-game in one of the final side-missions. Again, the person story and informations inside the book are not vital to understand The Division's main story but only complementary.

What drew me in to the game of the division was it’s world, the story and the lore, I just wanted more of it. As a companion piece it builds upon the world created here and it excels in storytelling and the fictional history of the Division. As a stand-alone story, this book is a superb survival guide with stories running alongside.

A qualidade do livro é excepcional.
Ponto negativo? Bom, nenhum...

5.0 out of 5 stars Mas que un libro
Reviewed in Spain on 27 July 2016

5.0 out of 5 stars Ubisoft; lo lograste de nuevo!!
Reviewed in Mexico on 3 January 2018

5.0 out of 5 stars Veramente impressionante

Servizio Amazon impeccabile come sempre.
